From the Mirror Magazine 1969
Jock Armitage has been a Punch and Judy man for forty years. Three twenty-five minute shows a day. That's an awful hammering poor Judy has taken from her old man - the greatest unapprehended wife-beater of them all. Jock posed on the beach at Swanage, Dorset, with the stars of his show. "It's hard work," he says, "and I don't collect much money. But it's good to hear the children shout back at Punch, even after all these years." Jock thinks it's a dying trade. For a number of characters in the cast, of course, it always has been.
