The Frame Book

Postby rsummer » 09 Jun 2018, 20:15

I am trying to build my own puppet booth. I would like to find a copy of the Frame Book that someone would like to sell.

I don't know if you are aware that their are two frame books. The first edition is "The Frame File" and this does contain the correct plans for the George Blake original, now classic, Lazy Tongs booth and a host of other goodies. However the second edition has a great deal of extra material, sufficient to justify a new title and so was published as "The Expanded Frame File". Both are by John Alexander and both are well worth having, although get the second if you can.
Neither of these books cntain the plans for the Eric Sharp panel booths. These were published by Eric in a book "Specialised Punch & Judy Entertainment" now out of print. I believe Quentin Reynolds now holds the copyright.
If you get no response here I would suggest you try Adrian Harris (secondhandmagic.com) - but write to him. Only a fraction of his stock is on his website.
Some of Johns Magic Books of Arcady Press (a publishing venture of John Alexander and the late Patrick Page) are I believe still available and now handled by Janet (of patrickpagemagic.co.uk).

Thank you very much. I would be happy with either book. Secondhandmagic wasn't able to help me. I am planning to build a booth and I was just looking for some resources to get started. I've seen several booths in action and the principal looks easy enough I think I could try it. I'm just not 100% sure of what I'm doing. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
